What a fabulous day we had celebrating Pyjama Day at the centre! Everyone—tamariki and kaiako—came dressed in their coziest pyjamas, creating a warm, relaxed, and joyful atmosphere. The day was filled with snuggling, storytelling, and laughter as we cuddled up with cushions, blankets, and soft toys. This special event helped strengthen the links between home and our early learning setting, allowing tamariki to bring a piece of their home life with them. It encouraged a strong sense of belonging, comfort, and security.
Dispositions such as confidence, curiosity, and resilience were nurtured as children engaged in calm yet meaningful interactions with their peers and teachers. Pyjama Day was more than just fun—it was a valuable opportunity for tamariki to feel accepted, connected, and safe in their environment. Celebrating in such a familiar and comforting way reminded us of the importance of emotional wellbeing and shared experiences in early learning.
